group run

tough day today - first day attempting a real workout in all 3 events in one day. am bike/swim + eve run. felt tired during the run, but it turned out to be fairly fast, with all splits that were not warmup/down at or under 7:30. planning to make this my usual thur routine, since I usually do light cardio and mainly work weights on Fridays and then long bike or run saturdays.

training ride + swim

2hr training ride + immediate 55min pool workout. felt great. only ate a shot of hammer gel at the 2 hour mark. seems like the more you train, the more efficient your body is at using glycogen, ergo less calories needed during exercise. that said, the large portion of french bread tasted good immed after ……run tonight.

warmup, then

paddle drills: lungbusters 200m breath every 3, 5, 7, 5 strokes, then
4 sets: 150m slow, 50m med, 50m fast with timed recovery

skipped the real lungbuster (50m underwater.)  I’m not quite able to swim 25yds underwater yet.
